PLC Engineer – SCADA – HMI – CoDeSys – S7 – PERMANENT POSITION OR CONTRACTOR

This “ahead of the curve” offshore engineering company has a comprehensive R&D department that produces their own specialised hardware and software. Their groundbreaking technologies are used in a many offshore projects, such as commissioning and decommissioning riggs, pipelaying and building offshore and underwater constructions.

The role

This is an allround position with an emphasis on programming PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for automated machinery. You also write specifications, budgets and planning, and define scopes of work for control system and PLC software development work. You work on system design and develop control systems and software in collaboration with Mechanical Engineers and Electrical Engineers. Additional you evaluate and improve the existing systems and tools, based on the current demands.

Your tasks in short

• Prepare analysis, design calculations, parameters and/or sketches for the development of new systems
• Program PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
• Design industrial network systems
• E&I engineering and build of the for prototypes of new equipment
• Test and commission new equipment
• Prepare design and test reports
• Provide engineering support for end users for the new systems/tools

The requirements

• A well rounded BEng, BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience with designing electrical control systems
• Experience with PLC’s, Siemens S7, CoDeSys and E&I Engineering
• Can-do attitude
• A good command of the English language and familiar with writing tech specs in English
• Working abroad on short-term assignments, varying from some days to a couple of weeks, is not an issue
